K-Tech Suspension Equipped Racers Capture 5 Of 21 Podiums At Infineon

K-Tech Suspension is proud to celebrate a successful weekend at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California! With two race wins, a Pole Position, and five podium finishes across seven race events in the rolling hills of northern California, K-Tech Suspension provided confidence and improved competition in all classes. K-Tech Suspension technicians provided track side service and support all weekend, helping racers adapt to the demanding Infineon Raceway circuit.

AMA Pro Road Racing SuperSport West Championship leader James Rispoli rode his K-Tech Suspension equipped Celtic Orient Express Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600 to claim Pole for the second race weekend in a row. Corey Alexander would take his #5 National Guard Fairhills Group Suzuki GSX-R 600 to qualify sixth. Both Celtic Racing riders Rispoli and Alexander ride K-Tech equipped machines with 20DDS front fork cartridges and 35DDS rear shocks. Rispoli battled for 18 laps on Saturday to finish second, just 0.170″ behind the race winner, with Alexander finishing ninth despite a lingering shoulder injury. Sunday’s race included three red flag incidents which could not prevent the Celtic Racing duo from improving their results – Rispoli would take his third win of the season, and Alexander would finish a very respectable seventh. Overall, K-Tech Suspension equipped racers took four of the top ten positions on Sunday, with Meen Motorsports racer Travis Ohge finishing ninth on his Yamaha YZF 600 R6, and Colter Dimick finishing tenth on his Gearzy Yamaha YZF 600 R6.

The Vance & Hines Harley Davidson XR1200 race saw Bartel’s Harley-Davidson rider Mike Barnes ride his #34 XR1200 to victory over teammate Tyler O’Hara in a close fought race. Team owner and Bartel’s teammate Josh Chisum finished a respectable sixth on his #10 XR1200, a steady improvement from his seventh place start on the grid. All three Bartel’s Harley-Davidson XR1200 machines feature K-Tech Suspension 25IDS front fork cartridges, and MT35 rear shocks. Barnes’ win at Infineon marks his first AMA Pro Road Racing victory in 16 seasons of competition – hearty congratulations Barney! O’Hara now leads the standings by six points over Barnes ahead of the race at Miller in three weeks.

In AMA Pro Superbike, Roger Hayden brought his #54 National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R 1000 to the grid in second position during qualifying, with his teammate Ben Bostrom close behind in fourth position on the #23 Jordan Suzuki GSX-R 1000. Hayden and Bostrom would both improve on their results from Saturday with Roger finishing on the podium in second place on Sunday, and Ben holding firm in fourth just off the box. Both Jordan Motorsports teammates ride K-Tech Suspension equipped Suzuki GSX-R 1000′s featuring 20DDS front fork cartridges and 35DDS rear shocks. Hayden now has a healthy 30 point lead over fourth place and heads to Miller third in the points.

The incredibly competitive Daytona SportBike class includes Meen Motorsports’ Bobby Fong, riding the K-Tech Suspension equipped #50 Yamaha YZF 600 R6. Fong made the transition to the Daytona SportBike class in 2009, and was able to move forward in both races from his tenth place qualifying position. Fong finished race one on Saturday in seventh place, and was able to improve his results Sunday with a sixth place finish. Bobby’s Meen Motorsports Yamaha YZF 600 R6 features 20DDS front fork cartridges and a 35DDS rear shock.

Michael Jordan Motorsports On The Podium At Infineon AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Race

SONOMA, CA (May 7, 2012) – The Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) team celebrated their best results so far this season in the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike series at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, this past weekend. National Guard Jordan Suzuki’s Roger Hayden put in a tremendous ride to bring home a spectacular second-place finish, while MJM teammate Ben Bostrom carded an impressive fourth-place result.

For National Guard Jordan Suzuki’s Hayden, the weekend at Infineon was all about turning his season around. He did just that, notching his best result of the year with Sunday’s second-place finish. In the 22-lap race, Hayden got a great start and clicked off aggressively consistent laps to put his National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 on the box. This podium result was made even sweeter, considering Hayden struggled on Saturday and endured a small off-track excursion before finishing 10th.

“It was a good weekend,” said Hayden. “On Sunday, I got a pretty good start on the National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000, and I tried to stay with the guys in front. I was riding on the edge, trying to keep up, and I was starting to slide all over the place and go back a little bit. When another rider came by me, I hung on with him and tried to wait for the last few laps and we had a fun battle on the last half of the track. We missed the podium in Atlanta and we struggled earlier this weekend, so it was nice to finish up the weekend on a good note.”

MJM’s Bostrom also made noticeable gains between Saturday’s and Sunday’s races. This improvement might be attributed to the fact that the Infineon course is Bostrom’s home track and one on which he is particularly comfortable. The weekend’s first AMA Pro National Guard Superbike race saw Bostrom get a good start on his MJM Suzuki GSX-R1000 and finish a respectable seventh. But on Sunday, Bostrom pulled out all the stops and pushed hard to finish just shy of the podium.

“I’ve been on the ground in three of four races this year, so it’s not been the greatest start to the season,” said Bostrom. “But thankfully, my MJM crew found the problem and fixed it. Also, I grew up around here and Infineon has always been one of my favorite tracks. It’s a rider’s track, and there aren’t a lot of straightaways. It’s one of the better tracks to go to for me.”

In the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship series rider points standings, Hayden is in third place and Bostrom just moved up to 12th. The Michael Jordan Motorsports team’s next event of the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship series is at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT, the weekend of May 26 – 28, 2012.

Celtic Racing’s Rispoli Claims Second Pole And Race Two Victory To Extend AMA SuperSport West Lead

Celtic Racing arrived at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California with James Rispoli leading the AMA SuperSport West Championship, and team-mate Corey Alexander firmly in the top five of the East Championship despite crashing hard at Road Atlanta in race two. Rispoli guided his #1 Celtic Orient Express Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600 through a dense field of 51 riders to secure pole position; half a second ahead of his closest competitor. Alexander rode the #5 National Guard Fairhills Group Suzuki GSX-R 600 to qualify sixth and proved his mental and physical toughness, overcoming his shoulder injury and a nasty highside as well.

In Saturday’s race one, Rispoli lead early after a great start, but was passed by race winner Dominguez and missed the win by only 0.170″ at the flag. James Rispoli and Jake Lewis resumed the close racing seen at Road Atlanta, and extended a gap to the second pack of riders by several seconds. Corey Alexander fought off soreness and pain, and battled in a pack of six riders near the front, taking advantage of small mistakes ahead of him to improve his position through the race. Alexander eventually finished ninth – a great result despite difficult conditions.

Celtic Racing approached Sunday’s race two with the desire to improve on Saturday’s results, and both riders succeeded – James Rispoli rode hard and took his third win of the season ahead of Dominguez, Puerta, and Lewis. This marks back to back double podium’s for Rispoli in addition to the pole position, and cements his SuperSport West lead at 44 points ahead of Meyers. Corey Alexander showed his determination and strength, leading the second pack of riders and finishing seventh, two positions forward of his result on Saturday.

James Rispoli was really happy to report that “Another race win feels great, and we picked up valuable points going to Miller. Qualifying was tough, but the bike felt great and was working good all weekend – great to start from Pole especially at Infineon. I couldn’t get my rhythm going Saturday and had to settle for second place, but we had a race winning machine – hats off to my Celtic Orient Express crew – William, Eric, and Justin. Sunday was awesome, and I had a great battle at the front of the pack with those guys. It was a crazy race with all the red flags, and the tires go off a little each time which made for a slick race. On Sunday I wasn’t going to let anyone lead, especially after the third red flag. We got the bike working great, and I had the bike to win all weekend. I wanted the most laps led and the race win, it was good to give my crew another win. I have to thank Jason Pridmore and Mark Gallardo from the Star Motorcycle School for really working with me and getting me groomed right.” James Rispoli would like to thank all his personal sponsors whose support has made all this success possible, including: AGV Helmets, Dainese Leathers, Monster Energy, and Techmount.

“During Sunday morning’s warmup my crew got my National Guard Fairhills Group GSX-R 600 feeling better so I decided to give the race a shot. Overall I’m glad we did and I’m happy to come out of this weekend with a decent result under these circumstances. I really have to give a huge thanks to everyone involved for staying behind me and especially my guys Barry, Tim, and Mike. They worked really hard this weekend and I appreciate it tremendously. Many thanks also to Jason Pridmore for his coaching on and off the track, it make a huge difference for me this weekend. We will be back to the front at Miller for sure!” stated Corey Alexander. Corey’s personal sponsors include: Fairhills Group, Hudson Valley Motorcycle, Spidi Leathers, XPD Boots, and Arai Helmets.

Both Celtic Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600′s showcase the best in road racing technology. Product support for both machines comes from: Michael Jordan Motorsports, American Suzuki, Armor Bodies, Chicken Hawk Racing, DesignStar3, Dynojet, FMF Racing, Full Spectrum Power, Hudson Valley Racing, Galfer Brakes, GB Racing, K-Tech Suspension, Maxima Oils, Motion Pro, Pit Bull, Riviera Country Club, Saddlemen, Star Motorcycle School, Vortex Racing, and Zero Gravity.

Celtic Racing was established in 2001 by Barry Gilsenan, and over the past 11 seasons has established itself as a premier privateer racing team. Development of riding talent began with two-stroke 125cc, and 250cc machines competing in professional and regional championship events. More recent Celtic Racing efforts have focused on AMA Pro Road Racing in the Daytona SportBike and SuperSport classes with Ducati, Honda, Suzuki, and Yamaha four stroke motorcycles. Celtic Racing Arrives At Infineon With Rispoli Leading AMA SuperSport West Series

Barely two weeks have elapsed since Celtic Racing’s James Rispoli and Corey Alexander completed the second round of the 2012 AMA Pro Road Racing SuperSport season at Road Atlanta. James Rispoli rode his #1 Celtic Orient Express Racing Suzuki GSX-R 600 hard from the opening day, dominating practice and qualifying on pole ahead of a 40 rider field. James would go on to win the SuperSport race on Saturday, and narrowly miss victory in race two on Sunday after a red flag cut short a relentless battle between Jake Lewis and himself. Corey Alexander rode hard and qualified in fifth position, but was balked at the start of Saturday’s race and battled traffic to finish tenth. Sunday saw Alexander hit the pavement early in the race when he got tangled up with another rider. Corey suffered some shoulder injuries in the accident, and has undergone several examinations and an MRI.

Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California is another challenging road course, featuring over 160 feet of elevation changes, and flowing camber variations that make it a challenge for every rider except die hard locals. At 2.22 miles in length, it is among the shorter tracks the racers will visit this season. Infineon rewards careful chassis set up, and with 11 turns, rhythm is important for a fast lap.

James Rispoli arrives at Infineon leading the AMA SuperSport West Championship after winning race one and finishing fourth in race two at Daytona, where points counted towards the West Championship. Rispoli has been training and preparing since the day after Road Atlanta, and carries a great deal of excitement with him to California. “I am really excited as we head to the West Coast! When I went there to ride it last, it was super cold at Infineon, but I got some really good marks and reference points. I have been training in the heat now so I feel really good, and I’m getting used to the heat so I can do a better job controlling my breathing. We are looking to keep the momentum going as we did at Road Atlanta, and we are trying to get as many points as possible this weekend. I hope my teammate Corey is going to be able to ride, he was very fast here last year, and any help he can provide with data would help a lot” said Rispoli. Please follow James on Twitter via @JamesRispoli for the latest updates.

Corey Alexander will visit with noted surgeon Dr. Arthur Ting before he gets to Infineon. “Going into this weekend I’m not really sure what to expect! We weren’t sure if I would be able to ride but after Dr. Ting looked over my MRI and had me try a few tests at home, we received a tentative okay to ride. I will be visiting with him before I ride in California so he can look my injury over better. So I guess as long as it doesn’t hinder my ability to ride too much, we will be doing the best to put the #5 National Guard Fairhills Group GSX-R 600 up front. I do have to give a huge thanks to Dr. Ting for helping me out at the last minute” said Alexander.

Michael Jordan Motorsports Brings Home Two Top-Five Superbike Finishes at Road Atlanta

BRASELTON, GA (April 22, 2012) – The Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) team celebrated a successful doubleheader weekend at Round Two of the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike series at Road Atlanta in Braselton, GA this weekend. National Guard Jordan Suzuki rider Roger Hayden carded two impressive top-five finishes, while MJM teammate Ben Bostrom picked up a solid top-10 result.

Hayden was the epitome of consistency at Road Atlanta. The Kentucky native shined during qualifying, coming in fourth and capturing a front-row grid position. Then, in both Saturday’s and Sunday’s races, Hayden battled for a podium position on his National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 before bringing home two fourth place results.

“Two fourths is a little disappointing after being on the podium twice at Daytona,” said Hayden. “At the same time, we made a run for the podium, we finished both races and we learned some stuff. Although fourth place isn’t where we want to be, I feel like I’m riding good and the National Guard Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 is working great. Hopefully, we can move on to Infineon and get back on the podium.”

MJM teammate Ben Bostrom also admitted to some disappointment this weekend, but still put in a commendable effort. In Saturday’s race, Bostrom gave 100 percent, getting a good start on his Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 and clicking off 20 smooth laps to finish eighth. On Sunday, Bostrom got another good start but suffered a get-off early in the race and was out for the day.

“It was really a tough weekend,” said Bostrom. “The Jordan Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a lot better than I’ve shown at the first few races. I’ve crashed out of three of four races and that’s unheard of. I usually don’t crash all year, so I’m not doing the bike any favors. I got eighth on Saturday and that’s top 10, but it’s not where I want to be. I’m definitely looking forward to racing at Infineon. I grew up in that area and I like the racetrack, and I think our bike will be racing for first there.”

In the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship series rider points standings, Hayden is currently in third place and Bostrom is in 16th. The Michael Jordan Motorsports team’s next event of the 2012 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike Championship series is at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, the weekend of May 4 – 6, 2012.

Michael Jordan Motorsports to Partner With Army National Guard, Fairhills Group and Celtic Racing to Field SuperSport Entry In 2012

Corey Alexander to Pilot Team’s Inaugural Effort

EAST TROY, WI / CARMEL, NY (January 6, 2012) – Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Army National Guard, Fairhills Group and Celtic Racing to create a SuperSport effort that will compete in both the AMA Pro SuperSport East and West championship series in 2012. This unique partnership cements a long-standing alliance between MJM and Celtic Racing, which will provide technical and logistical services for the program. The Army National Guard has participated in AMA Pro SuperSport over the past two years, giving young riders opportunities to further their racing careers. Fairhills Group, a New York based alternative investment management firm founded by Edward Bronson, has signed on as co-title sponsor of the effort. Corey Alexander, a 2011 race winner, will pilot the #5 National Guard Fairhills Group Racing entry.

Alexander, 17, has been riding and racing motorcycles since he was five years old. His family has been in the motorcycle industry for over 50 years and owns a motorcycle dealership in New York. Alexander started his road racing career at the age of 13 after being selected as one of the 23 Redbull Rookies in 2008. When the Rookies program was over he was too young to turn pro, so he honed his skills winning amateur national championships. In 2011, his first full season as a pro, Alexander won his first AMA national and went on to finish third in the AMA West Coast SuperSport Championship.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to begin to compete at the entry level, as developing young talent is crucial to the future of our sport,” said Kreig Robinson, MJM’s Vice President of Corporate Relations.  “We’re extremely excited to expand our partnership with the Army National Guard, as well as welcome Fairhills and Celtic Racing officially into the family.”

Racer Corey Alexander added, “I’m so excited to be a part of the National Guard Fairhills Group Racing team. It is truly an honor to ride for the National Guard and I look forward to representing hundreds of thousands of soldiers while doing what I love, racing motorcycles. I’m also very excited to have Fairhills as a new part of our program and sport while partnering up with the well-known Celtic Racing. I know we now have one of the top teams in the paddock and it’s my job to utilize all of these amazing resources to win some races! I also want to give a special thanks to Michael Jordan Motorsports for giving me this amazing opportunity.”

“To be asked by Michael Jordan Motorsports to run the National Guard Fairhills Group Racing SuperSport program is a great opportunity and honor,” said Barry Gilsenan, Celtic Racing team owner. “Celtic Racing prides itself on the development of young riders.
